Dioecious rhizomatous, tufted perennial, herb (sedge-like), 0.25-0.45 m high. Fl. brown, Jul to Dec or Jan to Mar (possibly all year). Grey, peaty, lateritic sand, sandy clay. Winter-wet flats or depressions.
