Scientific Description

Shrubs or perennial herbs, stems several, more or less erect, persistently hairy, with dendritic or stellate hairs. Leaves present, 3-120 mm long, 3-40 mm wide, persistently hairy, with dendritic or stellate hairs; basal rosette absent; cauline leaves alternate. Spikes pink or magenta, ovoid or hemispherical, solitary or clustered, with densely arranged flowers. Bracts 3.3-5.7 mm long, coloured, hairy, awned or mucronate, with an obscure or a prominent midrib. Bracteoles 4.4-6.5 mm long, coloured, hairy, awned or mucronate, with an obscure or a prominent midrib. Outer tepals 12.4-15.3 mm long, not entire. Inner tepals 12-14.5 mm long, with a basal tuft of hairs on inner face. Style 7.3 mm long, straight or sigmoid, obliquely fixed to ovary. Distribution: Eremaean Botanical Region; IBRA regions: Central Ranges, Coolgardie, Gibbson Desert, Great Victoria Desert, Murchison.
