Shortly rhizomatous, compactly tufted perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.15-0.4 m high. Fl. cream-white, Aug to Oct. White or grey sand, lateritic gravel.
Scientific Description
Leaves flat, 150-350 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin absent; hairs on the surface of the leaf present. Scape present, glabrous, 130-250 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 4-6 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 3-3.5 mm long; pedicels sessile; flowers 4-6 mm long. Perianth hairy or glabrous, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, white to cream, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 3.5-5 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 0.3-0.5 mm long; anther 1.4-2 mm long, without an appendage. Style 2.7-3.4 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province. Conservation Code Priority Three (P3).
