Shortly rhizomatous, loosely tufted perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.15-0.4 m high, with terete green leaves. Fl. cream-white, Aug to Oct. White or grey sand.

Scientific Description

Leaves round (leaves terete), 120-320 mm long, 0.5-0.7 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin present, 0.5-1.2 mm long, with at least some small side branches at the base, flexuose and soft, angled towards the leaf apex. Scape present, glabrous, 105-290 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 3.5-4.5 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 2-3 mm long; pedicels sessile; flowers 5.5-6.5 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, white to cream, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 4-4.8 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 0.4-0.5 mm long; anther 1.3-1.7 mm long, without an appendage. Style 3-3.5 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province. Conservation Code Priority Two (P2).
