Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Rhizomatous, cushion forming stoloniferous perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.02-0.09 m high. Fl. yellow, Sep to Oct. Clayey loam, sand. Damp flats, swamp margins.

Scientific Description

Leaves flat, 16-80 mm long, 7 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin absent; hairs on the surface of the leaf absent (leaf surfaces glabrous). Scape absent. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 10-15 mm long, with one flower; pedicels present, 7.5-8 mm long; flowers 15-17 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 9-10 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 2-2.5 mm long; anther 4.5-5 mm long, without an appendage. Style 9-9.5 mm long. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the Avon Wheatbelt, Mallee and Esperance IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
