Rhizomatous, shortly proliferous perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.06-0.3 m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Sep. Yellow sand, limestone.

Scientific Description

Leaves flat, 110-250 mm long, 4-6 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin present, 2-3.5 mm long, straight and rigid, diverging outward at around 90° or angled towards the leaf apex; hairs on the surface of the leaf absent (leaf surfaces glabrous). Scape present, hairy, 90-300 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 10-20 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 5-9 mm long; pedicels present, 1-1.5 mm long; flowers 9-14 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 5 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 0.6-1 mm long; anther 2-6 mm long, without an appendage. Style 5.5-9 mm long. Flowers in August or September. Occurs in the Yalgoo and Geraldton Sandplains IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
