Slender, erect shrub, 0.5-1.6 m high. Fl. red, Jun to Dec. Grey sand over laterite, lateritic loam. Hillslopes.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-1.8 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 40-120 mm long, 2-10 mm wide, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins recurved. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, red; pedicels 3-5 mm long. Perianth 10-14 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 2-4.5 mm long; pistil 9-12 mm long, red, pollen presenter lateral, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 15 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
