Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Prostrate shrub, 0.15-0.35 m high, 0.3-1.6 m wide. Fl. cream-white/cream-pink/pink, Sep to Dec or Jan to Feb. Deep white sand, lateritic sand & gravel, sandy clay. Near salt pans, flat plains.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.20-0.30 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, 115-260 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire, spiral, smooth, apex acute, 1.2-1.5 mm long. Inflorescences not viscid, white, cream or pink. Perianth 22-26 mm long, hairy, the limb apex hairy all over; pistil 22-26 mm long; pollen presenter not fusiform, hairy, 6.5-7.5 mm long, the brush 4.5-5.5 mm long. Cone with persistent scales, 15-25 mm long. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
