Decumbent to ascending perennial, herb or shrub, to 0.9 m high. Fl. blue-purple, Jun to Oct. Spinifex plains.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 10-40 mm long, 2-12 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense, simple hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles present, 4-6 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel absent (flowers sessile). Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 4-6 mm long, hairy, with dense, glandular hairs. Corolla blue or purple, 15-18 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 7-9 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 4.5-9 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.5 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 10-13 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in June, July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Pilbara (PIL) and Carnarvon (CAR) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) Botanical Province.
