Tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, to 0.9 m high, sheath with woolly and tangled hairs, panicle loose, relatively broad, lemma 2-lobed. Fl. Jul to Nov. Red sandy gravelly soils over limestone & laterite. Flat, plains, gentle slopes, granite outcrops.
