Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-65 mm long, 1-7 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel absent (flowers sessile). Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 6-6.5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla blue, 10-11 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, simple hairs, hairy on the inside, 0.5 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 7-8 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in January, February, March, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) and Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
