Erect, dense shrub, 1-2.5 m high. Fl. white/blue, Mar to Oct. Sand. Coastal beaches & dunes.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 75-160 mm long, 35-90 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 1.5-2.5 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 4-6 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2.5-5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla white, 21-32 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 8-10 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 8-11 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.5-0.6 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.8-1 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 13-15 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Dampier land (DL), Victoria Bonaparte (VB) and Northern Kimberly (NK) IBRA Region(s), of the Northern (N) Botanical Province.
