Erect, spreading perennial, herb or shrub, 0.2-0.5 m high. Fl. blue-purple, Jul to Oct. Red sand.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-25 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, Indumentum present, with sparse, glandular hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles present, 3-4 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 10-25 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2-3.5 mm long, hairy, with sparse, simple hairs. Corolla blue, 29-32 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, simple hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 12-18 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 13-18 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.6-2 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.9-2 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 11-13 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Murchison (MUR), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO) and Little Sandy Desert(LSD) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) Botanical Province.
