Spreading, much-branched shrub, (0.4-)1-3 m high. Fl. green & white & cream/pink, Jun to Oct. Grey, yellow, brown or red sand, sandy clay, loam. Coastal cliffs, sand dunes, creek & river banks.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 35-100 mm long, 0.5-2 mm wide, hairy, the hairs straight; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, white or grey; pedicels 3-4 mm long. Perianth 3.5-4 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1-2 mm long; pistil 9-12 mm long, white or pink, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 8-12 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Gascoyne (GAS), Yalgoo (YAL), Murchison (MUR), Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
