Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves alternate, simple, 4-6.5 mm long, 1 mm wide, flat, the margins revolute, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; stipular excrescences present or absent. Flowers terminal. solitary; pedicels 2-4 mm long; calyx present, 4-7 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; corolla red, pink or green, petals five, 12(-16) mm long, connate, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, 14-15 mm long, hairy; anthers 2-2.5 mm long, without an appendage; style 15 mm long, hairy. Flowers in June, July and August. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Avon Wheatbelt IBRA region(s). Conservation Code: Priority One (P1).
