Rhizomatous, perennial, herb, 0.15-0.8 m high. Fl. yellow-orange-red, Oct to Nov. Grey sand.
Leaves flat, 85-190 mm long, 1.5-10 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin absent; hairs on the surface of the leaf absent (leaf surfaces glabrous). Scape present, hairy, 310-795 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 25-35 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 10-15 mm long; pedicels present, 7-10 mm long; flowers 52-70 mm long. Perianth hairy, bilaterally symmetric, suffused with a darker colour over the base colour, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 13-20 mm long. Stamens six, in three levels, in pairs; filaments 8-12 mm long; anther 4.3-4.6 mm long, with an appendage. Style 50-58 mm long. Flowers in October or November. Occurs in the Jarrah Forest, Warren and Esperance IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
