Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Rhizomatous, tufted perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.12-0.17 m high. Fl. yellow-cream-white, Aug. Yellow sand. Sandplains.

Scientific Description

Leaves flat, 50-150 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin absent, angled towards the leaf apex; hairs on the surface of the leaf present. Scape absent. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 12-20 mm long, with one flower; floral bracts 10-12 mm long; pedicels present, 5-10 mm long; flowers 30-42 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured or suffused with a darker colour over the base colour, white to cream, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 5.5-8.5 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 2-2.5 mm long; anther 3-3.7 mm long, without an appendage. Style 18-38 mm long. Flowers in August. Occurs in the Avon Wheatbelt IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province. Conservation Code Priority Two (P2).
