Rhizomatous, tufted perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.12-0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Sep to Oct. White sand, sandy loam.

Scientific Description

Leaves flat, 140-300 mm long, 2-3 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin present, 0-2 mm long, with at least some small side branches at the base, flexuose and soft, angled towards the leaf apex; hairs on the surface of the leaf present. Scape present, hairy, 170-330 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 22-24 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 7-12 mm long; pedicels sessile; flowers 10-19 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 6-9 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 1-1.2 mm long; anther 4-4.5 mm long, with an appendage. Style 8-10 mm long. Flowers in September. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
