Rhizomatous, tufted or solitary perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.15-0.22 m high. Fl. yellow, Sep to Oct. Sandy loam, grey sand, gravel.
Scientific Description
Leaves flat, 70-290 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin present, 0.2-1 mm long, with at least some small side branches at the base or simple, without any side branches, straight and rigid, curved inward over the leaf blade; hairs on the surface of the leaf absent (leaf surfaces glabrous). Scape present, hairy, 45-85 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 15-25 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 5.5-11 mm long; pedicels present, 0.5-2 mm long; flowers 9-12 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 4.2-6 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 0.2-0.8 mm long; anther 2-4.5 mm long, without an appendage. Style 5-8 mm long. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the Mallee and Esperance IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
