Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Erect to spreading shrub, 0.3-1(-1.5) m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Oct. Grey/yellow sand with lateritic gravel. Sandplains.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy, with curled hairs. Leaves alternate, 4-14 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, hairy; lamina terete, entire, straight or curved, scabrous, apex obtuse, 0.2-0.3 mm long. Inflorescences not viscid, cream. Perianth 15-20 mm long, hairy, the limb apex hairy all over; pistil 15-20 mm long; pollen presenter fusiform, hairy, 4.5-6 mm long. Cone with persistent scales, 18-20 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
