Rhizomatous, tufted perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.13-0.3 m high, inflorescences below leaves on short peduncles. Fl. yellow, Aug to Oct. White or grey sand, peat. Winter-wet depressions.
Scientific Description
Leaves flat, 90-300 mm long, 2-6 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin present, 0.2-1 mm long, with at least some small side branches at the base, flexuose and soft, angled towards the leaf apex; hairs on the surface of the leaf absent (leaf surfaces glabrous). Scape present, hairy, 55-100 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 3-4.5 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 5-5.5 mm long; pedicels present, 3-5 mm long; flowers 10-14 mm long. Perianth hairy, radially symmetrical, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 5.5-6.5 mm long. Stamens six, in one level; filaments 0.2-0.7 mm long; anther 1.8-2.5 mm long, without an appendage. Style 4-7 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the Mallee and Esperance IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
