Erect, much-branched, prickly shrub, to 2.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Dec or Jan. Sandy clay, sand, loam, gravel, laterite, granite. Hill & valley slopes, ridges, road verges, disturbed sites.
Scientific Description
Shrubs; branchlets hairy. Leaves whorled, 15-25 mm long, 10-15 mm wide, hairy; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, the margins flat; apex pungent, 2-2.2 mm long. Inflorescences yellow; innermost bracts 28-30 mm long. Perianth 50-52 mm long, glabrous; pistil 37-50 mm long, style hairy. Flowers in January, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
