Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.2-1 m high. Leaves alternate, 25-95 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, hairy; lamina flat, entire, with glands at the leaf (or leaf lobe) apex. Inflorescences red; innermost bracts 6-7 mm long; peduncles 3-4 mm long. Perianth 30-35 mm long, hairy; ovary hairy; pistil 37-40 mm long, pollen presenter distinctly flattened, style hairy. Flowers in February, July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Hampton (HAM), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Warren (WAR) IBRA subregion(s).
