Scientific Description
Shrub. Stems hairy. Leaves 12-20 mm long, 10-25 mm wide, not lobed; margins entire; indumentum present, with stellate hairs, with tubercle-based simple hairs, with gland-tipped hairs; stipules apparently absent, even from youngest leaves. Perianth of two whorls but the corolla reduced to small scales or tiny lobes at the base of the ovary. Pedicel present, 7-7.5 mm long; indumentum present, with stellate hairs, with gland-tipped hairs. Epicalyx (extra segments or 'bracteoles' immediately below the calyx) present, 6-10 mm long, the lobes free, indumentum present, stellate hairs present. Calyx mauve or purple, 4.5-9 mm long, the lobes free, stellate hairs present, gland-tipped hairs present. Corolla 0.4-0.6 mm long, glabrous. Stamens five, free and inserted at the base of the ovary; filaments present, 0-0.5 mm long; anthers 1.6-2 mm long, indumentum absent (anthers glabrous). Ovary hairs or scales present, stellate hairs present; style 1, with a lobed or capitate stigma, 3-3.5 mm long, with one style branches or lobes, hairy for most of length. Flowering time September. Distribution Botanical Province South-West, IBRA Bioregion Geraldton Sandplains. Conservation Code Priority One (P1).
