Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Erect, spreading, lignotuberous shrub, 0.4-2.8 m high. Fl. yellow, Nov to Dec or Jan to Feb. Yellow sand or sandy loam, often over laterite.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy, not ribbed. Leaves alternate, 20-30 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, hairy; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, scabrous, the margins flat; apex acute. Inflorescences yellow; pedicels 3-5 mm long, hairy. Perianth 9-11 mm long, radially symmetrical, glabrous; anther appendage absent; ovary glabrous; pistil 9-10 mm long. Flowers in January, February or November. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
