Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Erect, spreading shrub, (0.6-)1-5 m high. Fl. yellow, Jul to Dec. Yellow sand or sandy loam, sometimes with gravel. Sandplains.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-5 m high; branchlets glabrous, not ribbed. Leaves alternate, 50-130 mm long, 3-7 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, scabrous, the margins flat; apex acute. Inflorescences yellow; pedicels 6-9 mm long, hairy. Perianth 9-15 mm long, irregular, hairy, the hairs appressed; anther appendage present, 0.5-1 mm long; ovary glabrous; pistil 5-6 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Murchison (MUR), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
