Spreading shrub, 0.3-0.9 m high. Fl. red/red-pink, Aug to Oct. Sand or loam over laterite, often with gravel.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 5-20 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, once divided, tripartitely divided, entire or divided to the midrib; lobes 1.5-8 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, the margins revolute, exposing the lower surface of the leaf blade or enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a single groove or forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, red or pink; pedicels 3-4 mm long. Perianth 7-9 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 3-4 mm long; pistil 18-22 mm long, red, pollen presenter lateral, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-13 mm long. Flowers in August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
