Small tree or shrub, (1-)2-5(-7) m high. Fl. yellow-orange, Jan or Aug to Oct. Red or yellow sand. Sandhills, flats.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 3-6 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 150-230 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, entire; lobes 50-200 mm long, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences axillary, terminal or cauline, yellow; pedicels 12-15 mm long. Perianth 8-10 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 0.5-1 mm long; pistil 18-25 mm long, yellow, pollen presenter lateral or oblique, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 20-29 mm long. Flowers in August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Yalgoo (YAL), Murchison (MUR), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
