Shrub, 0.5-2 m high. Fl. red, Apr to May or Nov. Stony red loam, red clay.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 8-20 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle or more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins recurved. Inflorescences terminal, red; pedicels 5-7 mm long. Perianth 10-12 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1-1.5 mm long; pistil 10-14 mm long, red, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-15 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
