Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.6-2.7 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 35-140 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete or flat, entire. Inflorescences axillary, pink. Perianth 4-6 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 6.5-8 mm long, pollen presenter conical, style glabrous. Follicles 20-22 mm long, 10-12 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 11-12 mm long (including wing), 5-6 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending ± equally down both lateral sides. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
