Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-1.5 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, 40-150 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire, erect, incurved or sigmoid. Inflorescences leafy, the flowers aggregated into distinct clusters, the clusters stalked, white or purple, hairy; floral bracts 2.5-3.5 mm long, hairy. Perianth 5-8.3 mm long, irregular, hairy; upper lip 2.5-4.2 mm long, glabrous; lower lip 1.5-2.5 mm long, glabrous. Nut 1.5-2 mm long. Flowers in October or November. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
