Rounded shrub, ca 1 m high, leaves cordate-ovate, ca 2 mm long; flowers usually solitary; pedicels short, thick, ca 1 mm long. Fl. white, Jul. Yellow sandplain.

Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs peltate (umbrella-like) scales. Leaves alternate, simple, 1.5-2 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide, flat, the margins flat, verrucose (warty), glabrous; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers terminal. solitary; pedicels 2 mm long; calyx present, 2-2.3 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs peltate scales; corolla white or cream, petals five, 4-5 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, lepidote (with scales); stamens twice as many as petals, 4-5 mm long, smooth, glabrous; anthers 1.1-1.2 mm long, without an appendage. Flowers in July. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie IBRA region(s). Conservation Code: Priority One (P1).
