Spreading, densely branched shrub, ca 0.3 m high, leaves terete to clavate, cuticle exfoliating to form a grey scurfy covering. Fl. red. Well drained clayey sand. Eucalyptus salmonophloia open woodland.
Scientific Description
Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves opposite, simple, 5-10 mm long, 0.7-1 mm wide, terete, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers; pedicels 1.5-2 mm long; calyx present, 3-3.7 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous except for a ciliate marginal fringe, the hairs simple; corolla red, petals four, 6 mm long, valvate (not overlapping), free, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, smooth, hairy; anthers 0.5-0.8 mm long. Flowers in February, April and May. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie and Mallee IBRA region(s). Conservation Code: Priority Two (P2).
