Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

The notice period started at 9:45 am on Friday, 12 December 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 2 March 2026 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 120-275 mm long, hairy; petiole hairy; lamina flat, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib, indumentum appressed; distance from base of leaf to lowest lobe 65-185 mm; terminal leaf lobe 10-15 mm long, 3-5 mm wide; lowest lobes 35-65 mm long. Inflorescences yellow; scape 60-260 mm long; floral bracts 2-2.5 mm long. Perianth 6-7 mm long, glabrous or hairy; adaxial tepal 6-7 mm long; abaxial tepal 4-4.6 mm long; ovary hairy, style glabrous; style including stigmatic disc 3.5-4.2 mm long, lobed; stigma 0.8-1.2 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide. Follicles 5.5-6 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
