Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Dense, intricate shrub, (0.5-)1-2 m high. Fl. white-cream/white-pink, Aug to Oct. Yellow or red sand, sandy lateritic soils, granitic loam. Sandplains, granite rocks.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets glabrous, with a glaucous bloom or not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 20-55 mm long, glabrous; lamina flat, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 5-20 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, white, cream or pink; pedicels 6-8 mm long. Perianth 3-4 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1.5-2 mm long; pistil 3-5 mm long, white or cream, pollen presenter conical, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 6-9 mm long. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Yalgoo (YAL), Murchison (MUR), Coolgardie (COO) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
