Erect, dense, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.15-0.5 m high. Fl. cream/yellow & brown/red, Aug or Oct to Dec. Lateritic soils, sand, sandy clay. Flats, gentle slopes, low-lying areas.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.20-0.40 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 200-360 mm long, 2-6 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, incurved or recurved. Inflorescences leafy, the flowers aggregated into distinct clusters, the clusters sessile, white, yellow or red, glabrous; floral bracts 8-11 mm long, glabrous. Perianth 15-20 mm long, radially symmetrical, hairy, the lobes 10-13 mm long. Nut 2.5-3 mm long. Flowers in August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Warren (WAR) IBRA subregion(s).
