Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Erect, spreading shrub, 0.3-1 m high, to 1.5 m wide. Fl. blue/white, Jul to Oct. Lateritic gravelly soils.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 8-20 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, hairy or glabrous; lamina terete, entire, incurved or recurved. Inflorescences leafy, the flowers dispersed singly, white or blue, hairy; floral bracts 2-3.5 mm long, hairy. Perianth 3.5-7 mm long, irregular, glabrous or hairy; upper lip 1.5-2.7 mm long, hairy; lower lip 1-1.8 mm long, hairy or glabrous. Nut 1.5-2 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
