Sprawling, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.1-1.2 m high. Fl. blue, Jul to Oct. Sandy clay, lateritic soils. Winter-wet flats, low hills.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.20-0.50 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 25-140 mm long, 3-20 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle, entire, erect. Inflorescences without leaves, the flowers aggregated into distinct clusters, the clusters stalked, pink or blue, hairy; floral bracts 2.5-3.5 mm long, hairy. Perianth 5-8 mm long, irregular, hairy; upper lip 4-5.2 mm long, glabrous; lower lip 1-1.5 mm long, glabrous. Nut 2-2.3 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Warren (WAR) IBRA subregion(s).
