Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 50-160 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire. Inflorescences cauline, red; pedicels 4-5.5 mm long. Perianth 7-10 mm long, hairy; ovary glabrous; pistil 21-22 mm long, pollen presenter lateral, style glabrous. Follicles 40-50 mm long, 15-26 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 22-27 mm long (including wing), 10-12 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending ± unequally down each lateral side. Flowers in May, June, July, August or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Murchison (MUR), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
