Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Trees or Shrubs, 0 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 135-300 mm long, (0.9-)1-2(-2.5) mm wide, hairy or glabrous; lamina terete, entire. Inflorescences axillary, white or cream; pedicels 12-13 mm long. Perianth 8.5-11 mm long, hairy; ovary glabrous; pistil 24-30 mm long, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles 40-60 mm long, 18-28 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent, 7-10 mm, 3-6 mm; seed 22-38 mm long (including wing), 0.8-1.7 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending down one lateral side only. Flowers in February, March, April, May, June, July, August or September. Occurs in the Northern (N) Botanical Province(s), in the Northern Kimberley (NK) or Central Kimberley (CK) IBRA subregion(s).
