Procumbent or twining annual, herb, 0.05-0.3 m high. Fl. purple-blue-white, Apr to May or Jul to Oct. Brown clay loam, red sandy loam, granite. Damp areas, roadsides, cropland, paddocks.






Scientific Description
Twining or climbing plants. Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 40-110 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, leaflets 8-24, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 2-3 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 5-6 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 20-22 mm long, multicoloured, mostly purple or blue, with some purple or blue spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 19-20 mm long, not auriculate, wings 15-18 mm long, not auriculate, keel 12-15 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate. Stamens ten; anthers 0.2 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 12-12.2 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 12-20 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, bearded (with a tuft of hairs at apex), terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 25-35 mm long, 9-10 mm wide, stipitate or sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in April, May, August, October and November. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt and Esperance IBRA regions.
