Erect perennial, herb, 0.15-0.6 m high, Leaves adpressed to stem, lanceolate, 0.2-0.5 cm long, 0.6-1 mm wide, apex acute, margin hyaline or margin hyaline and fimbriate, glabrous. Inflorescence racemose. Fl. pink, Feb to May. Grey to black peaty sand. Winter-wet habitats and depressions. Shrubland, heath, sedgeland or low woodland.
