Shrub, 0.25-0.6 m high, leaves broadly elliptic to obovate, sparsely long-ciliate, branchlets pilose. Fl. pink-red, Sep to Dec. Sandy soils.
Scientific Description
Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs simple or stellate (star-shaped). Leaves opposite, simple, 6-13 mm long, 2-9 mm wide, flat, the margins flat, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, with simple hairs or stellate (star shaped) hairs; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers in axillary, loose clusters (cymes or panicles); pedicels 3-3.5 mm long; calyx present, 3.5-3.6 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs simple; corolla red or pink, petals four, 5.5-6 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, hairy on the surfaces; stamens twice as many as petals, 2-2.5 mm long, smooth, hairy, with an appendage. Flowers in September, October, November and December. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest, Warren, Esperance and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA region(s).
