Shrub, 0.45-1 m high, longest leaves to 4 cm long, dentate; flowering spike to 20 cm long. Fl. white, Aug to Nov. Yellow sand or brown sand and laterite. Rocky hillsides, sandplain.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 10-15 mm long, 1-3 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins toothed. Bracteoles present, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 0.5-1 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0.5-1 mm long, glabrous. Corolla white, 5-7.5 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 1-3.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 2-3.5 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.1-0.3 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 4-5 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) and Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
