Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.35-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 30-70 mm long, 6-12 mm wide, hairy; petiole 15-20 mm long; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 3-9 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow or orange; innermost bracts 8-11 mm long, hairy. Perianth 20-24 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs) or hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 25-28 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), elliptic, 8-12 mm long. Flowers in January, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
