Non-lignotuberous shrub, 1.8-4 m high. Fl. yellow-orange/orange-brown, Nov to Dec or Jan. Sandy loam, clay-loam, yellow sand, gravel.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 2-4 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 140-280 mm long, 7-10 mm wide, hairy; petiole 20-130 mm long; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 7-19 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow or orange; innermost bracts 7.5-9 mm long, hairy. Perianth 22-25 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 25-30 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), elliptic, 8-15 mm long. Flowers in January, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Yalgoo (YAL), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
