Shrub, 0.5-2.5 m high, leaves ovate, sometimes slightly scabridulous above. Fl. cream/red & yellow, Jun to Jul or Oct to Nov. Limestone escarpment.

Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped). Leaves opposite, simple, 10-30 mm long, 3-10 mm wide, flat, the margins flat or recurved, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, with stellate (star shaped) hairs; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers axillary, solitary or in terminal, loose clusters (cymes or panicles); pedicels 3-4 mm long; calyx present, 3-5 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped); corolla red, yellow or white or cream, petals four, 15-22 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), connate, hairy on the surfaces; stamens twice as many as petals, 20-26 mm long, smooth, hairy; anthers 4.3 mm long, without an appendage. Flowers in June, July, October and November. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Hampton and Mallee IBRA region(s).
