Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.70-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 50-95 mm long, 1-1.3 mm wide, hairy; petiole 0 mm long; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins revolute. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), cream, brown or purple, hairy. Perianth 31-41 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 44-51 mm long, hooked, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), elliptic, 12-30 mm long. Flowers in January, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) IBRA subregion(s).
