Lignotuberous shrub, 0.8-2 m high. Fl. yellow-orange/orange-brown, Mar to May. Yellow sand. Sandplains.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 210-380 mm long, 8-18 mm wide, hairy; petiole 20-165 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided or divided to the midrib, with 12-25 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), orange or brown; innermost bracts 6-8 mm long, hairy. Perianth 43-46 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), without awns; pistil 46-50 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles hairy, villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), elliptic, 15-25 mm long. Flowers in March, April or May. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
