Erect or ascending annual, herb, to 0.3(-0.6) m high, bracts usually 7-8.5 mm long; staminal filaments forming tube longer than the fruit. Fl. pink-purple, Feb to Jul. Sandy loam or cracking clays. Woodlands and tussock grasslands, rocky slopes and gullies in grassland.
